Ideas are Easy, Execution is Hard
The theme of Laserlike is that ideas are overvalued. Entrepreneurs spend too much time worrying about protecting their ideas and not enough time launching them! I’m going to share my thoughts during my presentation at TiEcon this Friday at 11am, during which I am going to “give away” three of my favorite ideas. I will then blog about those ideas in more detail after the presentation and will continue sharing and discussing ideas openly on Laserlike in the future. Hope to see you there!

Totally agree. (i) Launch, distribution and operations are as or more challenging than generating innovative ideas. And (ii) initial ideas are never perfect — during execution, and working with others and later customers, the ideas will be refined, ripped apart, etc until a winning concept emerges.

I just read your “Free Ideas” presentation and found it to be very true and refreshing. When I think of all the NDA’s I signed just to hear mediocre ideas that could’ve been so much better if they were out in open, getting feedback… I get the shivers.

Thank you Eran. I’m with you. When someone realizes that it’s their ability to execute on their idea it’s a breakthrough moment… But for some reason, we all get caught up in the idea that the IDEA is what matters (myself included in my two experiences).
